Bulgarian singer Dara won the 70th Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday with her party anthem "Bangaranga," giving Bulgaria its first-ever victory in the competition.

The win was overshadowed by a record political boycott. Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, and Slovenia staged the biggest coordinated protest in Eurovision history, citing the ongoing Gaza war. Israel finished second despite the widespread controversy.

The boycott reflected deep divisions across Europe over Middle East policy and marked an unprecedented use of the music contest as a diplomatic statement.
