Deutsche Bahn plans to launch a direct train service from Berlin to Oslo beginning in summer 2028, according to Tagesschau. The new ICE connection will run through Copenhagen and Gothenburg before reaching Norway, creating one of Europe's longest uninterrupted rail routes.

The service will eliminate the need for passengers to change trains during the journey across northern Europe. The project represents a significant expansion of cross-border rail infrastructure, linking Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway into a unified transport corridor.

The route underscores efforts by European rail operators to enhance connectivity and reduce travel times between major Nordic and Central European cities. The initiative aligns with broader EU sustainability goals to shift passenger traffic from air travel to rail. Deutsche Bahn has not yet disclosed ticket pricing or exact departure frequencies for the new service.
