EEC raises tariffs on light industry goods, electronics, and valve fittings through September 2027
The Eurasian Economic Commission Council has increased import tariffs on three categories of goods. The decision will take effect 10 days after official publication.

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council has raised import tariffs on light industry products, certain types of electronics, and valve fittings. The commission's press service announced this.
The decision will take effect 10 days after official publication and will remain in force through September 30, 2027 inclusive. The specific HS codes for goods affected by the decision have not yet been disclosed.
According to the EEC, the tariff increase will apply to goods whose supplies have risen significantly against the backdrop of a substantial decline in import prices. Through this measure, the regulator aims to level competitive conditions for producers within the union.
According to Andrey Slepnev, EEC Trade Minister, the measure is designed to "protect existing production in Eurasian Economic Union countries, preserve jobs," as well as to develop industrial cooperation and import substitution.
The EAEU comprises Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. The Eurasian Economic Commission is a permanent supranational regulatory body of the union.
