Osh is planning the construction of two major medical facilities with support from the Islamic Development Bank: a modern oncology center and a 400-bed infectious disease hospital. This was announced by the Osh city administration.

Representatives of the Islamic Development Bank arrived in the city on a working visit and personally inspected the condition of existing local medical institutions. Following the inspection, specific sites for future construction were identified: the oncology center is planned to be located on the grounds of the former children's tuberculosis sanatorium in the village of Tolkoen, while the 400-bed infectious disease hospital will be built in the Keng-Say residential district.

During the visit, bank representatives held a working meeting with Osh Deputy Mayor Masuda Aidarbekova. The parties discussed specific steps and mechanisms for implementing both projects. The implementation of these initiatives is aimed at significantly strengthening the healthcare system of Kyrgyzstan's second-largest city and improving access to specialized medical care for residents of the country's southern region.
