Ukraine struck the Ryazan oil refinery during the night of October 15. Pavel Malkov, governor of Ryazan Oblast, confirmed a fire at the facility, as well as a strike on a storage depot and vehicles at another industrial site in the city. No casualties have been recorded; damage assessment is ongoing.

Unmanned attacks were also reported in Voronezh Oblast: according to available information, a strike hit a military airfield, with six Sukhoi Su-34 fighter-bombers reportedly damaged. Ukrainian and Russian sides have advanced mutually contradictory accounts of the events.

In Ryazan, classes at schools and kindergartens in the Oktyabrsky District, where the refinery is located, as well as parts of the Sovetsky District, have been cancelled due to the attacks.

The strike took place after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the lifting of a three-day pause on strikes against Russian oil refineries. According to him, the pause had been introduced at Washington's request, but Moscow continued attacks on Ukrainian territory.
