Riyadh Regulates Status of Undocumented Yemenis Through Quwwah and Masaand Platforms
The Ministry of Human Resources launched the initiative on Sunday for two months, covering workers with expired residency permits and those reported absent from work.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development began on Sunday regulating the status of Yemeni nationals residing irregularly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in implementation of the latest royal directive, in a move that reflects the extent of coordination among relevant government agencies.
The operation is managed through the Quwwah and Masaand platforms and extends for two months across all regions of the Kingdom. The initiative targets two main categories: workers whose residency permits have expired and those reported absent from work, provided they hold valid travel documents and meet the approved procedures and requirements.
The ministry clarified that workers with expired residency permits can transfer to new employers who need their services, as the Quwwah platform specializes in transfers of skilled workers, while the Masaand platform handles transfers of domestic support workers. Workers reported absent from work are also entitled to benefit from the same initiative, as they can cancel their absence reports and transfer to other employers through the platform appropriate to their line of work.
These services are provided electronically in coordination with the Absher platform, without the need to visit government offices in person, which contributes to improving labor market efficiency and protecting the rights of all parties to the employment relationship.
