Saudi Arabia's Cabinet of Ministers welcomed a UN Security Council statement that called for effective international cooperation to cut off arms supplies to the Houthi group, during a session chaired by King Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday.

Media Minister Suleiman al-Dosari told the Saudi Press Agency that the Council praised the statement, which condemned Houthi attacks on civilian facilities, airports, and energy infrastructure in the Kingdom, as well as ongoing threats to navigation in the Red Sea and the Strait of Bab al-Mandab. The statement also emphasized the necessity of full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216 and subsequent resolutions.

At the start of the session, the Council reviewed a letter from Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the King, as well as the outcomes of a meeting between Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaydi.

The Council expressed satisfaction with a decision by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Council of Foreign Ministers to establish a ministerial council for cybersecurity, with Riyadh selected as the seat of its secretariat general and executive office.

The Council cited the rise in foreign direct investment in the Kingdom by 33.5% in 2025 compared to 2024, viewing this as evidence of the attractiveness of the Saudi economy and the effectiveness of Vision 2030 reforms.
