Turkey's National Defense Ministry reaffirmed its readiness to conclude a maritime boundaries delimitation agreement with Egypt "in accordance with mutual interests," noting that Egypt would receive — should it sign an agreement with Ankara — more than 15,000 square kilometers compared to any potential agreement with Greece.

The announcement came during the ministry's weekly press conference, in which the military's media advisor, Rear Admiral Zaki Aktürk, reviewed a range of military developments.

On Iraq, the ministry expressed satisfaction with efforts by the central Iraqi government to strengthen state authority in the Sinjar region and normalize it, considering the elimination of terrorist organizations there and the assumption of responsibility by formal Iraqi security forces a pivotal step toward "permanent stability," and emphasizing continued tracking of this course in coordination with relevant government agencies.

On the operational front, the commander of Istanbul Naval Shipyard, the head of logistics at Naval Command, the commander of naval training, and representatives of ASFAT company visited the Syrian port of Latakia on October 22 aboard the TCG Bora, as part of efforts to strengthen Syrian naval capabilities.

Cooperation meetings are continuing in Azerbaijan from October 27-30 as the "Third Cooperation Meetings between Turkish and Azerbaijani Land Forces" take place with participation of the Turkish Land Forces Chief of Staff.

Greece is also hosting from November 3-5 a visit by the commander of the Hellenic Tactical Air Force and his accompanying delegation to the commander of Turkish Air Force Combat Air Operations, as part of implementing Turkish-Greek confidence-building measures.

On joint exercises, Alexandria will host from November 4-9 the 'Maritime Friendship 2026' exercise, which brings together units and personnel from Turkish and Egyptian navies, and includes training in surface operations, anti-submarine defense, air defense, and underwater naval commando (SAT) training.
