Ali Koç thanks Justice Ministry over Trabzon shooting case 'reversal in law's interest' decision

Former Fenerbahçe Club Chairman Ali Koç announced that the Justice Ministry had decided to pursue a 'reversal in law's interest' in the case concerning an armed attack on the Fenerbahçe football team's bus in Trabzon on April 4, 2015, and issued a thank-you message to the ministry. Anadolu Agency reported this development.

In the attack in question, the front window of the bus was shot, and driver Bülent Kayabaş was wounded. The case remained in the public eye for years due to controversial verdicts and lenient sentences. The Justice Ministry's decision to pursue 'reversal in law's interest' signals that the case could be brought back before the courts for retrial.

In his statement, Ali Koç expressed satisfaction with the course of the legal process. Fenerbahçe club also issued a separate statement indicating it would continue to monitor the case. The timeline for retrial has not yet been determined.
