The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has prepared a new indictment against 22 former judges and prosecutors allegedly responsible for unlawful detention and arrest decisions in the case publicly known as the 'Revolutionary Headquarters' trial. The prosecution argued that the suspects acted in accordance with FETÖ's objectives and sought prison sentences of up to 50 years.

A key figure in the case was former Istanbul Police Chief Hanefi Avcı. Targeted immediately after publishing his book documenting the FETÖ organization, Avcı was detained in September 2010 and charged with aiding an ultra-left organization; he was sentenced to 15 years and 4 months in prison by the first-instance court. He became the sole detained defendant held in Silivri Prison for 3 years and 9 months, or 45 months. After a Constitutional Court ruling on rights violations, Avcı was released in June 2014 and acquitted as FETÖ conspiracies collapsed.

Judges and prosecutors who served in the then-closed Special Authorized Heavy Penal Courts now await trial as defendants for the same acts, following courts' determination that the detentions issued during that period were based on a fabricated investigation. The indictment has been newly prepared; the trial schedule has not yet been announced.
