The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a heavy rainfall warning covering a broad swath of Turkey for the second day of Eid al-Adha. Fifteen provinces have been placed under yellow alert due to severe precipitation expected in the interior regions of the western Black Sea, inner Aegean, the Lakes Region, and areas surrounding Ankara, Çankırı, Kırıkkale and Sakarya.
According to a report carried by TRT Haber, the warning carries particular significance as it coincides with the peak travel period of the holiday break. Citizens planning to travel for holiday visits and long-distance journeys must take into account the provinces covered by the alert. Drivers are advised to exercise caution against the possibility of reduced visibility and slippery road surfaces, to travel below speed limits, and to postpone non-essential journeys.
The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that it will continue to update weather alerts and the list of provinces under yellow alert on an hourly basis. Citizens are advised to monitor official weather sources before traveling.
