Başarır to Kılıçdaroğlu: 'You pardoned Osman who threw a punch in Çubuk, but you cannot pardon me?'

CHP Deputy Group Chair Ali Mahir Başarır directly opposed claims that former party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will have him expelled from the party. Targeting Kılıçdaroğlu directly, Başarır said, "Kemal Bey, you pardoned the cattle thief Osman who punched you in Çubuk — but you cannot pardon me?"

According to Cumhuriyet Newspaper, Başarır's remarks came during a period bearing fresh marks of the Kılıçdaroğlu-Özel tension within the CHP. By referencing the Çubuk attack, Başarır cited a concrete example of Kılıçdaroğlu opening the door to forgiveness in the past and questioned why his own situation should be treated differently.

The statement shows that internal party reckoning within the CHP continues to play out publicly even during the Eid holiday break. No official response has yet come from the Kılıçdaroğlu camp.
