Erdoğan announced the recruitment of 38,000 non-physician health personnel at a groundbreaking and opening ceremony held at Istanbul University Hospital's Çapa Campus. The President said, "I am sharing the good news that we will announce a call for applications to hire 38,000 non-physician personnel before the end of 2026."

As part of the ceremony, the official opening of the new Internal Medicine Hospital at Istanbul University's Çapa campus and Esenyurt Hospital took place. Simultaneously, the groundbreaking for the Orthopedics, Traumatology and Surgery 2 Hospital was held.

The last major collective health personnel recruitment took place in 2022; that announcement also focused on non-physician positions but the number remained at 25,000. This time the announced figure is more than half again that previous number.

The scope of the recruitment announcement — which provincial quotas and which job titles — has not yet been shared with the public by the Ministry of Health.
