Sarıgül family and journalist Ağırel arrested: 100 million euro allegation
Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office arrested 15 people, including Aylin Kotil and Ömer Sarıgül, in a money laundering investigation.

As part of a money laundering investigation conducted by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 15 suspects were arrested, including Aylin Kotil (former wife of YENİ Party Erzincan MP Mustafa Sarıgül), his son Ömer Sarıgül, and journalist Murat Ağırel. Proceedings regarding Emre Sarıgül were reported to be ongoing.
The investigation was initiated following a report by two German citizens. The informants alleged that 100 million euros was illegally transferred abroad through companies, and that a 1 billion euro fund transfer was promised via credit. The informants also reported that they were threatened after handing over documents to journalist Ağırel.
Following this, the prosecutor's office opened an investigation and issued detention orders for 17 suspects. MASAK investigations are continuing regarding the structure allegedly operated through companies established domestically and abroad.
Previous financial investigations into the Sarıgül family came to the fore in 2014-2015; those proceedings had been inconclusive at that time. MP Mustafa Sarıgül has parliamentary immunity; the investigation is being conducted directly through family members and his close circle.
