Britain outpaces Kazakhstan: Kyrgyzstan's exports double in eight months
The republic's foreign trade turnover exceeded $12 billion, while shipments to Europe surged 2.9 times.

Kyrgyzstan's trade geography shifted sharply in January–August 2026: Great Britain displaced Kazakhstan from second place among the largest buyers of Kyrgyz products. The data was published by the National Statistical Committee of the republic.
Total foreign trade turnover over eight months exceeded $12 billion, showing growth of 11.3 percent year-on-year. Export revenue jumped to $2.28 billion — 2.1 times higher than the corresponding period last year. Shipments to European countries increased 2.9 times.
A particularly sharp surge was recorded in August: exporters shipped $614 million in goods in that month alone, while over the preceding seven months the cumulative volume was $1.67 billion.
China and Russia remain the country's primary trading partners, accounting for 47.53 percent of all turnover. The share of mutual trade with Eurasian Economic Union countries made up 36 percent of total trade: 34 percent in exports and 36.5 percent in imports.
Despite record growth in export revenue, the republic was unable to reduce its foreign trade deficit.
