Japarov Heads to Azerbaijan for CICA Summit

Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov is in Azerbaijan on October 14–15 for an official visit. The news agency Kabar reported this.

Japarov arrived at the invitation of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev to participate in the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The platform brings together Asian states with the goal of strengthening peace, security, and regional cooperation through the development of dialogue and confidence-building measures among member countries.

At the forum, heads of state, government officials, and leaders of international organizations are discussing current issues of regional interaction, including the development of transport connectivity, digital transformation, and the achievement of sustainable development goals.

Following the summit, a number of joint documents are expected to be signed, aimed at further deepening and strengthening cooperation among the organization's member states. Japarov's visit to Baku also underscores Bishkek's interest in active participation in multilateral Asian formats.
