Syria's General Directorate of Border Control and Customs announced the temporary closure of the Nasib border crossing with Jordan for passenger and cargo transport in both directions. The agency cited "the situation in Daraa province."

Syria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it had notified Amman of the decision, pointing to the lack of coordination from Jordan. The ministry expressed deep regret that civilian casualties in Daraa resulted from the Jordanian airstrikes, according to its statement.

On October 26, Jordan's Air Force conducted strikes in southern Syria against groups that Jordan linked to terrorists behind an attack on the Church of Saint George in Jordan's Mafraq province. According to Jordan's Health Ministry, nine people were killed and 34 wounded in the October 23 terrorist attack.
