U.S. President Donald Trump declared at a campaign rally in Mississippi that the temporary ceasefire struck with Iran was nothing more than a waste of time, asserting that the United States now holds complete control over the course of the war.

Trump said Iran was just two weeks away from possessing nuclear weapons when the United States launched strikes using B-2 bombers, adding: "We had no other choice. This should have been done much earlier by previous presidents." He pointedly referenced former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, stating they did nothing to destroy Iran's nuclear capability.

Trump outlined what he described as decisive military results, asserting that 159 Iranian naval vessels are now at the bottom of the sea, 268 fighter jets have been destroyed and reduced to wreckage on Iranian airport runways, and the majority of radar systems have been eliminated.

The U.S. president referenced the success of the naval blockade he described as "the largest in the history of navigation," stressing that except for the brief ceasefire period, no Iranian vessel has been able to pass for months, and that tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has exceeded pre-war levels, citing a report published on the front page of the Wall Street Journal.

Trump warned of what he called the Iranian threat that was menacing the region and the world, saying: "They would have used the nuclear weapon without hesitation. They would have erased the Middle East, they would have erased Europe. They would have struck our cities; San Diego, Los Angeles." He cautioned that Iran now possesses missiles capable of reaching Europe, noting that its possession of this capability was unacceptable.

Trump affirmed the war will end soon, without specifying a date, merely stating that what he called "the small ceasefire" was struck in response to military advice and a desire for good faith, but ultimately deemed it a waste of time, asserting: "Now we are doing our job, and Iran will never possess nuclear weapons."
