U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan signed an agreement that establishes the United States as an official participant in Expo 2030 Riyadh, during a signing ceremony in Atlanta.

The agreement sets out a formal framework for the two countries to coordinate preparations for the international exhibition and reflects Expo 2030 Riyadh's commitment to promoting international cooperation with participating nations. Rubio stressed that "Expo 2030 is an important platform for advancing American innovation" and added that the agreement aims to expand American business opportunities and strengthen strategic partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar, welcomed the agreement, describing it as "another important milestone in the Saudi-American strategic partnership," noting that "U.S. participation reflects the strength of our longstanding relationship and our shared commitment to innovation, economic opportunity, and bringing peoples and ideas together," and expressing the Kingdom's anticipation to "welcome the United States to Riyadh in 2030 and build on the opportunities this global event will provide."
