Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatti held two separate telephone calls on Tuesday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, as part of Egyptian efforts to contain regional tensions and avert escalation.

In his call with Prince Faisal, Abdelatti discussed regional developments and efforts to contain the current crisis in light of what the Egyptian Foreign Ministry described as "growing indicators of potential escalation." Ministry spokesman Nader Zaki emphasized that the two ministers stressed the importance of pursuing political and peaceful solutions through dialogue and agreed to maintain close consultation and coordination between Cairo and Riyadh.

The two ministers also agreed to continue coordination through the four-party ministerial mechanism comprising Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, which is concerned with de-escalation and diplomatic tracks.

In his separate call with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Abdelatti addressed the latest regional developments and indicators of escalating tensions in the coming period. He stressed the necessity of intensifying coordination among regional states to return parties to the political and diplomatic track and to prevent the crisis from entering a more dangerous phase.
