Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office Seizes Shredded Kuriş Network Documents from Ümraniye Address

Following a tip that documents linked to the organization were being destroyed, the Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office conducted a raid on an address in Istanbul's Ümraniye district as part of its investigation into the network led by Alihan Kuriş. Istanbul Provincial Police teams seized deliberately shredded documents during the search.

The investigation began last Friday with simultaneous operations across 17 provinces. Search and seizure measures were carried out at 123 separate addresses, and detention decisions were issued against 49 suspects, including Alihan Kuriş himself.

According to investigation documents previously reported by Sözcü, Kuriş managed the organization through an encrypted communication network similar to FETÖ, issued orders for surveillance footage to be deleted, and arranged to have himself presented to followers as the Messiah ('Mehdi'). The file also shows that his name — officially recorded as 'Erhan Faruk' — was changed twice by 2006 to become 'Alihan.'

The Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office confirmed the investigation is ongoing; no date for additional detentions or an indictment has been announced.
