The Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) preference period ends today at 23:59. According to ÖSYM's announcement, candidates can make their preferences through the ais.osym.gov.tr website or the ÖSYM candidate operations mobile application.
This year, 2 million 425 thousand 627 candidates applied for YKS; 2 million 255 thousand 76 candidates completed the Basic Proficiency Test, the exam's first session. The preference period opened on July 29.
ÖSYM requires candidates to carefully review the 2026-YKS Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide and formulate their preferences in accordance with the guide information. Last year, connection problems occurred due to heavy system access near the deadline; ÖSYM has not issued such a warning this year, but candidates are advised to complete their transactions without waiting until the final hours.
