Iran: No Definitive Results Expected from US Negotiations in Coming Weeks

Iran's Foreign Ministry and Negotiation Delegation Spokesperson Ismail Bekayi said that negotiations with the US are not expected to reach a definitive conclusion in the coming weeks or months. Bekayi emphasized that talks are proceeding on the basis of profound disagreements stemming from US actions toward Iran.

According to a statement relayed by Anadolu Agency, the Iranian official drew attention to the distance between the two sides, signaling that the diplomatic process is following a long-term and complex course. This statement, which implies that serious obstacles stand in the way of negotiations, points to the fact that the trust deficit between the parties has not yet been overcome.

Bekayi's statement coincided with a period in which diplomatic traffic in the Middle East has intensified noticeably. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi continued contacts with various regional actors during the same period to address the ending of regional conflicts and the reduction of tensions. All these developments are deepening international concerns that the negotiation process on the nuclear file and sanctions will not be concluded in the short term.
