An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) belonging to the Israeli military carried out a strike targeting civilians in the western section of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip. According to TRT Haber, two Palestinians were wounded in the attack, one of them seriously. The wounded were reportedly transported to hospital by local health teams.
Listed by the United Nations among the world's most densely populated refugee camps, Jabalia has been one of the residential areas subjected to the heaviest strikes since the opening day of Israel's military operation, which began in October 2023. Airstrikes on such densely populated civilian areas continue to fuel debate over possible violations of international humanitarian law.
As the civilian death and injury toll from the ongoing fighting in Gaza mounts by the day, calls from the international community for a humanitarian ceasefire are growing louder. The Israeli military had not issued any official statement on the strike at the time of reporting.
