Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi announced that as part of an investigation into the organization publicly known as Süleymancılar, the group transferred approximately 100 billion lira abroad — primarily to Germany. Minister Çiftçi stated that the group constructed a headquarters in Cologne spanning 17 dunams, consisting of three blocks at a reported cost of 70 million euros, and aimed to relocate all of its Turkey-based operations to the facility.
Following the minister's statements, Sözcü TV host Murat Ağırel visited the Cologne complex. Ağırel reported that construction was still ongoing, that the facility housed students receiving Quran instruction, and that officials declined to speak with him.
While operations against the Süleymancılar have previously been conducted against this same structure, the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor has not yet issued an official statement regarding the indictment phase of the current investigation.
