Iranian human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi has been released on bail after suffering a heart attack while imprisoned, according to La Repubblica.
Mohammadi, who was released on bail, paid her own hospital expenses. Her brother alleged that prison authorities attempted to kill her during her detention.
The activist remains defiant about her cause despite health complications and reported violence in custody. She has cited her children as her motivation to continue her work advocating for human rights in Iran.
