One person was killed and three others injured following a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia's Belgorod Region, the state-run TASS news agency reported.
The incidents occurred in and around Shebekino, a town in the Belgorod Region that sits close to the Ukrainian border and has been a recurring flashpoint in cross-border exchanges since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
In one attack, a drone detonated near the cabin of a truck, causing the vehicle to catch fire. In a separate strike, a first-person-view, or FPV, drone — a low-cost remotely piloted munition widely used by both sides in the conflict — hit a motorway, leaving five cars damaged.
The Belgorod Region has experienced repeated drone and artillery incidents in recent months, with Russian regional officials regularly reporting casualties and infrastructure damage from what they describe as Ukrainian strikes on civilian areas.
