Critical appointments in Official Gazette: New head named to Migration Authority

Multiple personnel changes have been made across several ministries and public institutions through decisions signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in the Official Gazette today. According to Cumhuriyet newspaper's report, the most notable appointment took place at the Migration Authority: Muhammet Selami Yazıcı has been appointed to the role.

The Migration Authority holds strategic importance as the institution directly implementing Turkey's refugee and irregular migration policies. Given that migration has gained considerable prominence on the political agenda in this period, the appointment is being closely watched by the public.

The Official Gazette decisions also indicate changes in various positions within other ministries; however, Yazıcı's appointment stood out as the most prominent item. Anadolu Agency and TRT News separately confirmed the appointment.
