Water year rainfall hits 38-year peak

Turkey's water year rainfall has climbed to its highest level in 38 years. According to Anadolu Agency, when recorded data across the country are compared, this period represents a significant milestone.

According to the data, rainfall amounts in the eastern and southeastern regions broke records recorded over the past 66 years. In western regions, a 50 percent increase was observed compared to seasonal norms. This high rainfall rate contributes to the renewal of water resources but can also create risks of flooding and inundation.
