Government Hospital Bills Exceed 29 Billion Lira in Two Months

The government spent 22 billion Turkish lira in a single month on public hospital service fees, according to Cumhuriyet newspaper. Over two months, total spending exceeded 29 billion lira.

The expenditures come at a time when the government points to conditions in the Middle East to justify domestic economic crises, while continuing to maintain high spending levels in the healthcare sector despite broader financial pressures.
