Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that a total of 25 million lira has been transferred to four provinces to meet the basic needs of citizens affected by ongoing forest fires in Aydın, Balıkesir, Antalya, and Muğla.
Göktaş stated in a post on her X account that the funds will be distributed through Social Aid and Solidarity Foundations in the provinces, and that household visits and damage assessment efforts are continuing.
Last year, during major fires in the same regions, the Ministry carried out a similar fund transfer in the third week of the incidents; this time it appears to have stepped in at the initial stage. However, the ministry has not yet disclosed how many households in the four provinces will receive aid or in what amounts. The announcement also did not include the total number of households affected by the fires. According to Cumhuriyet newspaper.
