A German court has found Daniela Klette, one of the last remaining members of the left-wing terrorist group Red Army Faction, guilty of involvement in a series of armed robberies, Deutsche Welle reported.
Klette was convicted on the robbery charges, but the verdict is not the final word in her case — more serious charges are still pending, according to Deutsche Welle.
The Red Army Faction, also known as the RAF, was a West German far-left militant group active from the late 1960s through the 1990s. It carried out bombings, assassinations, and kidnappings in pursuit of its radical political agenda, and is considered one of the most prominent domestic terrorist organizations in post-war German history.
Klette had evaded authorities for decades before her arrest, and is among the last of the group's members still facing active legal proceedings. The outcome of the remaining, more serious charges against her is expected to draw significant public attention in Germany.
