Kazakhstan has signaled readiness to join the Zangezur Corridor initiative, according to Azerbaijani sources, marking a potential breakthrough in regional infrastructure development.
The Zangezur Corridor would connect mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave through Armenian territory, creating new east-west trade pathways across the South Caucasus. Kazakhstan's participation would extend connectivity into Central Asia.
The corridor has faced delays since being agreed during the 2020 ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Kazakhstan's commitment signals renewed momentum for the project, which could reshape regional trade patterns and strengthen ties between Russia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.
