"Jashyl Dem" plants 30,000 trees simultaneously across three Kyrgyzstan locations
The ecological movement held an autumn festival in Kemin, Bishkek, and the city of Manas on October 24.
The ecological movement "Jashyl Dem" on October 24 conducted tree-planting actions simultaneously at three locations — in Kemin, Bishkek, and Manas, planting a total of approximately 30,000 saplings, Kabar news agency reported.
In Kemin district, 6,000 trees were planted across an area of 10 hectares. Of these, 2,000 saplings were provided by the "Jashyl Dem" movement itself, with another 4,000 supplied by Kemin Nature Park. The action involved local residents, youth, and activists from Bishkek. This was reported by Asel Zhumaliyeva, deputy head of the Kemin district state administration.
In Bishkek's "Karagach tokoyu" park, the autumn ecological festival took place with the participation of Deputy Chair of the Cabinet of Ministers Ulan Mamatkanov, representatives of state bodies, and Bishkek's city administration. Movement founder Israzhydin Zaripov reported that more than 15,000 black poplar saplings were planted in the park as part of the festival.
Representative of the movement Zhibek Amantur explained that the festival format distinguishes "Jashyl Dem" from standard tree-planting actions. Last year, a festival in Kegeti drew more than 300 participants, with approximately 15,000 saplings planted at that time.
Saplings can be purchased on the Jashyldem.com website for 249 soms — the buyer receives an electronic certificate. Adilbek Kasmaliyev, director of Chon-Kemin State Nature Park, noted that planted trees receive special care over the first two to three years.
