President Zhaparov announced the completion of construction for a facility with a capacity of 10,000 vehicles per year.
Construction of an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Bishkek is nearing completion. President Sadyr Zhaparov announced this on October 23 during a meeting with residents of Tash-Kumyr and Kara-Kul, according to AKIpress.
According to the president, the facility is planned to launch either in late 2026 or in March–April 2027. The plant will produce both passenger vehicles and large commercial transport. The designed capacity is approximately 10,000 electric vehicles per year.
Zhaparov said that following the plant's launch, the government will develop a state program to replace obsolete vehicles and transport powered by petrol and diesel fuel with electric alternatives. The state vehicle fleet is also planned to transition to electric power. According to the president, the complete replacement of traditional transport is projected to take 15–20 years.
