Kyrgyzstan Tripled Net Gold Export Profits: $613.6 Million in Eight Months
From January to August, the country sold 5.6 tonnes of gold for $770.6 million — revenues grew 72.5% year-over-year in value terms.
Kyrgyzstan's net profit from foreign trade in precious metals and jewelry reached $613.6 million for the January–August 2026 period, according to data from the republic's National Statistical Committee. A month earlier, at the end of seven months, the figure stood at only $206.56 million — meaning that in August alone, net income nearly tripled, adding $407 million.
Raw gold exports made the largest contribution: over eight months, the country shipped 5 tonnes and 661 kilograms of metal abroad for $770.6 million. More than three tonnes worth $412.7 million were exported in August alone.
Year-over-year, revenues from gold sales increased 72.5% in value and 33% in physical volume.
Switzerland and the United Kingdom received nearly all of the raw gold. Switzerland took 5 tonnes and 175.2 kilograms for $707.57 million. Jewelry was exported to Spain, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Pakistan, and China, but its volume remains negligible compared to gold — only $71,000.
