US President Donald Trump gave a positive assessment of an agreement with Russia on diesel fuel supplies. Speaking to journalists at Andrews Air Force Base before departing for Michigan, he noted that they gave oil "not to us — they gave oil to the world," emphasizing that this was a very good thing, TASS reported.

Russian Vice Premier Alexander Novak said earlier that under the reached agreement, Moscow is ready to supply the US with as much diesel fuel as the American side requires. Novak stressed that Russia confirms its readiness to act as a reliable supplier of energy resources.

The basis for the agreement was a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump that took place on October 9. Following the talks, the Russian side confirmed its readiness to supply oil and petroleum products both to the American market and to global markets as a whole. Trump, for his part, viewed this step as Russia's contribution to global energy stability.
