Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced via al-Masirah channel that his group's forces targeted a Saudi "Typhoon" warplane with an air-to-ground missile over the airspace of Saada governorate.

Saree said: "Our forces struck the aircraft with a direct hit, and it is at risk of falling," adding that the fighter jet took off from Taif air base in western Saudi Arabia.

At the same time, al-Masirah broadcast that the Yemeni capital Sanaa was subjected to airstrikes, without disclosing the results of those strikes.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued no statement regarding the incident as of the time this report was prepared.

It should be noted that this account comes exclusively from the Houthi side and has not been verified by an independent source.
