In the case of Deniz Esin Bozoklar (5), allegedly beaten in an incubator at Kahramanmaraş KSÜ Health Practice and Research Hospital in 2021, the report of the Forensic Medicine Institution Supreme Board has reached the court: the 45-member panel unanimously ruled that no causal link could be established between nurse Hazel Dırık Bağrıyanık's actions and the neurological condition detected in the child.

According to Ekonomim's report, the panel confirmed that Bağrıyanık shook the baby and applied repeated blunt force trauma to the head and facial region; however, it also noted that no pathology was detected inside the head on ultrasound examinations.

Security camera footage from the hospital, lasting 14 minutes and depicting a blood draw procedure, had placed the case on the public agenda following the initial reports in 2021. After contradictions emerged between the reports, the case was referred to the Forensic Medicine Supreme Board; this was the fifth evaluation process.

Father Abdullah Bozoklar reacted harshly to the report: "From birth until violence was applied, there is no record of any neurological follow-up, epilepsy medication use, or prior diagnosis related to cerebral palsy," he said.

Nurse Bağrıyanık is being tried on charges of intentional injury; the prosecutor is seeking up to three years imprisonment. The Supreme Board report is now before the court; the date of the next hearing has not yet been announced.
