The Turkish company intends to sign agreements within a week and expand its presence beyond Samarkand Region.

Turkish company Aksa Enerji plans to sign agreements within a week to take over management of power distribution networks in Tashkent, Jizzakh, and Syrdaria regions of Uzbekistan. This was announced by the company's board chairman Cemil Kazancı following a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 16.
Kazancı said the company intends to expand its presence in the country, building on its existing experience managing networks in Samarkand Region. The main goals of the new projects are modernization of distribution infrastructure, reduction of electricity losses, and lowering energy supply costs.
During the negotiations, both sides discussed expanding cooperation and Aksa Enerji's participation in technological modernization of Uzbekistan's energy sector, after which they agreed to accelerate work on specific projects. Kazancı added that the company will study the proposals raised at the meeting and present its own.
Aksa Enerji has already built four power plants in Uzbekistan.
