Armed clash in Ankara Keçiören: 8 arrests, 3 unlicensed firearms found in residence

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into an armed clash in Keçiören in which one group arrived by vehicle and opened fire, while a rival group pursued them by vehicle and returned fire.

Ankara Police Department units apprehended the group that opened fire at their hideout using a special operations team. Three separate unlicensed firearms were discovered in the search. Suspects in the pursuing group were identified and detained by Keçiören District Police Department; approximately 2,000 drug pills were seized at this group's address.

Of the 10 suspects in detention, 8—identified as H.Y., B.A., E.G., S.S., A.E., F.G., E.Ş., and M.T.—were remanded in custody by the judge to whom they were referred on charges of arms trafficking, drug trafficking, and attempted murder. The remaining 2 suspects were released.

Firearms recovered at the scene were sent for ballistic comparison and criminal examination. TRT Haber reported.
