Detained journalist Murat Ağırel, in a statement written from prison, reported to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office allegations concerning Osman Gökçek. Ağırel noted that the prosecutor posed two questions to him: "Why didn't you report this story?" and "Did you give the documents to Sarıgül?"

Ağırel answered both questions: he said he did not report the story because no concrete documents were provided to him; he stated that he submitted the content of incomplete videos and secret audio recordings to the prosecutor's office. He explicitly denied providing any documents to Sarıgül.

Ağırel's main report, however, is based on a telephone conversation with Sinan Çampınar. According to Ağırel, Çampınar claimed that Osman Gökçek had a 150 million Euro investment linked to 13 companies belonging to his partners Kai and Marc, that Gökçek had granted power of attorney to someone at the consulate, and that he traveled from Germany to Spain by private jet with the individuals in question. Ağırel also conveyed Çampınar's claim that he possessed power of attorney documents, photographs, and private jet invoices.

Ağırel stated that Osman Gökçek denied these allegations; however, he emphasized that the prosecutor's office considered Çampınar a reliable source, arguing that his own report should be evaluated with equal seriousness.

In addition, Ağırel claimed that Çampınar admitted that a lawyer meeting was secretly recorded and circulated under the table, and that pressure was applied to news sources. He also alleged that Ahmet Gökçek attempted to place pressure on a person named "Mehmet."

In his statement shared with the public, Ağırel listed four concrete questions: Is the allegation about Osman Gökçek accurate; have news sources been subjected to pressure; has the investigation into the Gökçeks been closed; how did secretly recorded audio reach Osman Gökçek.
