Finnish President Alexander Stubb has told Europe to "calm down" regarding potential US troop reductions, according to POLITICO Europe. "If Finland can defend itself, NATO can do it too," Stubb said.
The statement comes as European NATO members assess security implications of possible changes to US military posture and commitment levels. Finland's relatively recent NATO membership and border with Russia give the country particular strategic weight in such discussions.
