İnce: SPK and BDDK Cannot Resolve the Fund Crisis
With 455,758 investors harmed by the crisis, the opposition has formally appealed to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey demanding that regulatory bodies be held accountable.

CHP former Member of Parliament Muharrem İnce placed responsibility for the fund crisis — in which the liquidation of 131 investment funds resulted in the seizure of 455,758 investors' money — squarely on the Capital Markets Board (SPK) and the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK). İnce said: "We are still waiting for a solution from the SPK and Borsa management that turned a blind eye to the crisis; those who caused the crisis cannot produce a solution."
According to İnce, the core issue is not oversight but manipulation. The former MP argued that systematic price manipulation has been carried out in the shares of 40 to 45 companies, and that the fund investigation cannot reach any conclusion without this being examined. He also recalled that losses on Borsa İstanbul have reached trillions of lira — a figure that applies not to a single investor, but to nearly half a million people, the vast majority of them small savers.
Meanwhile, İYİ Party MPs Erhan Usta and Ayyüce Türkeş Taş filed a formal application with the Grand National Assembly requesting that the heads of the SPK and BDDK testify before parliament. The Board had last been brought onto the parliamentary agenda during the 2018 currency crisis.
The SPK has not shared any public roadmap since the crisis began.
