Processing of the five suspects detained in the money laundering investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office has been completed at police headquarters. After health screening, the suspects were brought to Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. Cihan Tunç, Çağlar Sezgin, and Ümit İlker Avcı, who gave statements at the prosecutor's office, were referred to a criminal court of peace with detention requests. Regarding Mustafa Sarıgül's bodyguard Beşir Ömer Demir and Atakan Eren, a judicial control measure requiring them not to leave their residences was requested.

The investigation was initiated following an application by German citizens K.P. and M.B. The complainants alleged that a contract worth 80 million euros was drawn up, a transfer of 100 million euros was carried out, a fund of 1 billion euros was promised to be taken abroad through credit using public authority and influence, and a boat sale of 1.5 million euros was executed.

According to the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office statement, the complainants claimed they were threatened after providing information and documents to journalist Murat Ağırel. Following evaluation of these statements and audio-video recordings, detention decisions were issued against Emir Sarıgül, Ömer Sarıgül, Aylin Kotil, Volkan Aslanbaş, Cavidan Tanrah Artuner, and Ağırel. Allegations concerning TBMM 28th Term Deputy Mustafa Sarıgül were forwarded to the Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office.

In the first phase of the operation, suspects Cemil Vasken Barın and Uğur Kurtulan, who were detained, were released under judicial control, while 15 other suspects were arrested. Emir Sarıgül was also arrested yesterday by a criminal court of peace. The investigation is ongoing.
