In an investigation into allegations of money laundering through companies established domestically and internationally in Istanbul, five additional suspects were taken into custody. Ömer D., identified as Mustafa Sarıgül's bodyguard; Çağlar S., chief of Emir Sarıgül's private office; and businessmen A.E., Ü.İ.A., and C.T. are the new names among those detained.

Of the five detained individuals, Çağlar S., C.T., and Ü.İ.A. were referred to the peace criminal court with arrest warrant requests, while Ömer D. and A.E. were referred with judicial control requests.

The investigation was initiated by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following a report filed by two German citizens. The complainants alleged that 100 million euros was illegally transferred abroad and that a fund worth 1 billion euros was promised to be transferred abroad through credit arrangements.

On October 16, detention decisions were issued for 17 people. On October 19, 15 suspects were arrested, including Aylin Kotil, former wife of New Party deputy Mustafa Sarıgül; his sons Ömer and Emir Sarıgül; and journalist Murat Ağırel. Emir Sarıgül was sent to prison on October 21, raising the number of detainees in the file to 16. The investigation is ongoing.
