Hungary summons Russian ambassador over strikes on western Ukraine

Hungary has summoned the Russian ambassador in connection with intensive Russian strikes on western Ukraine. According to Ukrainian authorities, the strikes in Transcarpathia were the most massive since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.

This incident has again strained relations between Russia and Hungary, despite Budapest's more accommodating position on the Ukrainian conflict compared with other European states.
