Kyrgyzstan has been granted an additional quota of 10,000 electric vehicles that citizens of the country will be able to import without paying customs duties. Thus, the total volume of favorable imports in 2026 increases from 15,000 to 25,000 automobiles.
The Eurasian Economic Commission Council made the corresponding decision on July 9, 2026 — it is recorded under number 79. The document enters into force on August 17, 2026, according to the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan.
The tariff benefit applies to two types of vehicles: "pure" electric vehicles with the EAEU HS code 8703 80 000 3 and plug-in hybrids with code 8703 80 000 5. Citizens of Kyrgyzstan who are permanently resident in the territory of the republic are entitled to take advantage of the duty exemption.
The adopted decision fits into the overall EAEU policy aimed at encouraging the transition to environmentally clean transport and is designed to increase the accessibility of electric vehicles for a broad circle of the country's residents.
