Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that upcoming three-way negotiations involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine will focus on ensuring security for both sides of the conflict following the conclusion of a peace agreement. TASS reported this, citing an interview given by the Russian leader to Pavel Zarubin, a journalist with the Russia-1 television channel.

Putin said that "the goal of these negotiations is to discuss ways to ensure security," emphasizing that these should be final agreements, not some temporary cessation of hostilities, according to the agency's account of the Russian leader's remarks.

According to him, Moscow and Washington have already agreed to resume the three-way consultative process. Putin specifically emphasized that Russia is ready to participate in these negotiations and is focused on achieving long-term and legally binding agreements that would exclude the resumption of armed confrontation in the future, rather than on interim measures for temporary stabilization of the situation.
