Suspect in Nilda Müge's killing in Şişli spotted at victim's grave, arrested in forest

The suspect accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Nilda Müge in an armed attack in Şişli was detected by Istanbul police while visiting the victim's grave. According to reports from Hürriyet and Milliyet, the suspect fled from the gravesite and took refuge in a wooded area nearby; following a brief operation, he was taken into custody by authorities.

As part of the investigation being conducted by the Şişli Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect will be questioned on charges of premeditated murder. It was learned that the Istanbul Police Department's Homicide Bureau had obtained information that the suspect would visit the grave and had positioned itself accordingly.

Since Şişli is among Istanbul's densely populated districts, the incident that alarmed thousands of residents in the immediate vicinity for days concluded in this manner. In Şişli, where similar pursuits have occurred, two separate armed attack cases were recorded within the same district boundaries last year.
